For all those lucky souls that are gearing up to head over to Amsterdam to see the second annual Jam in the ‘Dam festival–I’m one of them–we’ve got an update on tickets and the 2005 Jam in the ‘Dam “release parties” that will be going on in conjunction with the 2006 fest.
Sickness, bra!
Official Jam in the ‘Dam Announcement
TICKETS
First off, regarding ticket mailing, we hope everyone received and paid attention to the email from Music Today, regarding their issues and the revised mailing date of next Monday, February 27th.
We apologize for the delay, but want to say that these are not just paper tickets. They are an artful, oversized plastic laminate that will be a beautiful souvenir of the show, and as such, took much longer to design. Lanyards will be given out at the door.
Also, for anyone that ordered tickets to the Black Crowes show at the Paradiso on 3/23, they got hung up in England somehow, and a replacement block is being FedEx’d to Music Today. They should go out around the same time as the show laminates. Everyone who got tix to the 3/22 show should be in possession of those already.
DVD
The much-anticipated DVD of Jam in the Dam 2005 is all but finished! We are happy to announce that we will be screening the ‘world premiere’ at the Melkweg Cinema at Midnight on March 18th, following the Bays show. Since the movie is so long, this will be a slightly edited version. It includes interviews with the bands, the fans, footage of Amsterdam, and live music video, all while telling the story of how this unique event came to be. We will then show it again on Monday the 20th at 6:00 PM. The DVD’s will be for sale at the merch table during the show!
Very Important!
The Cinema only holds 175 people, so it will be first come, first seated.
AUTOGRAPH SESSION
Last year’s autograph session with the bands was a huge success, so we will repeat it this year on Monday at 8:00 PM, right after the 2nd screening of the DVD. Also, like last year, we will have cardboard tubes available for those valuable Jeff Wood/Drowning Creek 2006 posters that will no doubt be scooped up quickly. Last year they were sold out by the second night.
‘GET LOST’ Books
For the first 100 ticket buyers who were promised a copy of ‘Get Lost: Amsterdam’, the 2006 edition will be hot off the presses, and given out the first night of the show. Music Today has a list of you all, so no worries there. We will ask them to email you soon, so you’ll know to ask for your copy.
NEW T-SHIRTS
Keep an eye out for a new t-shirt that will go on sale at our website very soon. It is different from the actual event shirt we will have at the Melkweg, but a great statement about why this is the festival that changed the rules.
More to come in weeks ahead, and the excitement grows…..remember to stop by the message board for up to the minute info, or just to ask any questions you might have.
