The Washington Post is reporting that lawyers for Saturday Night Live ordered YouTube to remove the “Lazy Sunday” videos that originally propelled this clip to internet stardom.
Idiots.

In all the good PR, in all the thousands upon thousands of people that are looking for this clip online, SNL shoots themselves in the foot by making the clip available at NBC.com only, with no support for the Apple crowd.
Maybe it wasn’t SNL that did this, more like NBC executives, or maybe more like GE executives–whoever thought that their goal here is to “protect” the intellectual property is completely missing the point and the reason why the clip was so big in the first place.
