The Kokua Festival is Hawaii’s equivalent to an Earth Day music festival, obviously very similar in timeframe to New York’s Green Apple Music Festival. The festival is scheduled for April 19, 2006 on Maui and April 22, 2006 on Oahu, and the lineup rounding out the festival looks stunning…
Jack Johnson is proud to host the Third Annual Kokua Festival on Earth Day- April 22nd, 2006 at the Waikiki Shell in Honolulu, Hawaii. In addition to the Oahu show, the Kokua Festival is again coming to Maui on April 19th, 2006 to the Maui Arts and Cultural Center (MACC) at the A&B Amphitheater in Kahului, Maui. Jack Johnson will be joined on stage by Willie and the Planetary Bandits, Ben Harper, Henry Kapono, Paula Fuga and the One Love ‘Ohana Band, and ALO.

The festival will include a booth village with local organic food and beverages, earth-friendly products and services from green companies, alternative energy demonstrations, interactive games and crafts for the kids, and countless environmentally active groups from around the islands.
All proceeds go to the Kokua Hawaii Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting environmental education programs in Hawaii. The funds raised from the 3rd annual Kokua Festival will be used to further support and expand the school recycling program on Oahu, sponsor field trips and curriculum development, as well as to introduce an exciting new farm to school program in Oahu public schools in the fall.
