NYE is one of the biggest music holidays of the year right alongside Halloween. For music junkies, if you told us we were doing anything besides seeing live music at the stroke of midnight, we wouldn’t call you a friend. It’s sacrilegious to miss the end-of-the-year hijinks when your favorite band is playing December 31st.
Here’s our NYE setlist roundup (we may have snuck in a few highlights prior to NYE too) and some countdown videos of our favorite acts including My Morning Jacket, Primus, Umphrey’s McGee, Greensky Bluegrass, The Disco Biscuits, Avett Brothers, Furthur, and more. Read more…
LIVE ROUNDUP: Photos, Setlists and Links from Halloween 2012 (Primus, Umphreys, Pretty Lights and More)
In the live music world there are really only two major holidays that matter: Halloween and New Years Eve. Both offer a chance for fans and band alike to wear costumes, act like children for a night and get overly intoxicated (although hardly anyone notices when you're wearing a wig... more
TOUR ROUNDUP: Leg One of My Morning Jacket’s 2012 Spontaneous Curation Tour
Suffice it to say: it's an exceptionally great time to be a My Morning Jacket fan. What started with an epic 5-night run at NYC's Terminal 5 in 2010 (where the band played all five of their albums (now 6 with Circuital) over the course of the run), consequently sparked... more
ROUNDUP: Posters from Phish Summer Tour 2012
It's always been a secondary love of ours to get some crispy posters at the shows we get to attend, and the Phish posters from summer tour (or any Phish shows for that matter) are always more coveted than any of the rest. The band seems to feature an... more

HEADY LINKS: Umphrey’s McGee Download, Sigur Rós @ Bestival, Luscious Jackson is back & more…
Because they love their fans so much (heh), Umphrey's McGee put up their Super Bowl Village set as a free download on their blog. I'm downloading this right away; I haven't dove into any live UM in a while. It looks like Sigur Rós will be returning to the stage... more
Heady Links: Electric Zoo, Treasure Island, High Sierra 2012 & more…

Heady Links (Hardly Strictly, Gaga, Beats, WillCall, UM & Groupon)
When I sifted back through my thoughts and photos on this year's Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, I realized that I hardly had any level of insight over and above what the real music experts (especially those steeped in Americana) would have to say about the three day mega-festival that went... more
SETLISTS / VIDEOS: Trey Anastasio Band Keeps Up On New Debuts
Trey Anastasio Band has been leaking out a steady stream of new music on this tour, so I thought I'd drop the setlist and find some videos of the debuts to hear how the new stuff sounds. YouTube comments like "Super adult contemporary, but it's pretty. Thanks for uppin."... more
SETLIST / VIDEOS / ROUNDUP: Radiohead @ Roseland Ballroom, NYC 9/28/11
Radiohead played the first of two nights at Roseland Ballroom last night in New York City, and by most accounts the show was an overwhelming triumph of all things they do best in a live setting. Roundup: Fourmile Canyon Revival Links
Last night the Fourmile Canyon Revival went down and featured six hours of amazing music while raising over $300,000 for the benefit of the victims of the Fourmile Canyon Fire, the worst disaster in Colorado's state history. It's a devastating story that fire, but last night went far to... more
News Fail: Kings of Leon’s ‘Pigeongate’, M.I.A.’s Jarring Live Show, and Panda Bear’s Pitchfork Snoozefest
This weekend was a weird and somewhat disappointing one for live music news (that is, unless you're a String Cheese Incident fan -- more on that shortly). The tragedy being what it is following Love Parade in Germany, I'd hate to highlight something so devastating when there's perhaps a... more
