Last night’s Grateful Dead show in Chicago at Soldier Field set a new record for attendance at the venue…
The attendance of 70,764 shattered Soldier Field’s post-renovation attendance record of 67,936 set by U2 360 in 2009.
It also featured some new technology that isn’t often available at a concert of that scale…
A “skycam” drone that hovered over the audience and stage delivered the scene to Internet and pay-per-view audiences at home, in theaters, and at satellite venues across America.
I had a sense that’s what we were seeing when I tweeted this out…
There's also a drone-cam flying over and providing shots for the webcast. Very nice touch. #FareTheeWell #dead50 pic.twitter.com/tKtAjEEKHE
