PHOTOS / SETLIST: Dropkick Murphys @ House of Blues, Boston, MA 3/17/13

A couple weekends ago, Dropkick Murphys held three shows in Boston in three nights to help Beantown properly celebrate St. Patrick’s Day weekend. The three night stand started at the TD Garden and ended at House of Blues. Every show was sold out, leaving plenty of rabid fans upset they did not have a ticket to the hottest show in town and those lucky enough to get in buckled in for a raucous and lengthy night of high energy music.

“The Boys are Back” is not only a song off their new album Sign and Sealed in Blood but it perfectly describes the mindset of both the band and the fan base. The song has been featured in many of the recent Boston Bruins promotions on local television stations and is undoubtedly a new local favorite. Much of the crowd got an early start and had enjoyed the South Boston St. Patrick’s day parade prior to the show before putting a perfect end to their day by watching Dropkick Murphys tear down the House of Blues stage. Boston has not seen a concert like this since…well maybe last year’s St. Patrick’s Day. No matter what, everyone in attendance during the run is already counting down the days till next year.
