Last month it was reported that would soon be changing record companies and hooking up with Columbia to release their highly anticipated fourth album in May (their first in eight years.) Now, just a few hours ago the band has confirmed those plans by updating both daftpunk.com and their Facebook page with a hi-res image of the band’s infamous helmet and Columbia records imprint.

One should expect an official announcement fairly soon if the rumored release in May holds true. As for a tour, I wouldn’t hold my breath for 2013. Daft Punk’s last performance was in 2007 at the UK Wireless Festival. The French dance duo of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo certainly have everyone on standby. Just the way they like it.
