VIDEO: Alabama Shakes make their SNL debut

alabama shakes on snl, formed in 2009 in Athens, Alabama are certainly making ‘the leap’ into the mainstream rather quickly, performing on last night’s Saturday Night Live as the musical guest. The band played their hit “Hold On” and the song “Always Alright” from the Oscar-nominated Silver Linings Playbook. Here are the two performances which had Twitter abuzz last night, especially those hearing Brittany Howard’s voice for the first time.

Interestingly enough Alabama Shakes were also featured on this weekend’s Austin City Limits along with Gary Clark Jr. Hopefully you set your DVR accordingly. Check your local listings as PBS usually repeats these performances throughout the week.
