Before all of our NYE coverage starts rolling in, we’ve got this amazing gallery to publish from The Roots show that went down the night after Christmas… -Editor
Philadelphia’s Legendary Roots Crew took the stage at Boston’s House of Blues for a performance that can only be described as sensory overload. The set contained obvious cornerstone songs like “The Seed 2.0,” “Break You Off,” and “Here I Com”e but the shining moments were the extra long jam sessions by Kirk Douglas and ?uestlove. Captain Kirk’s guitar belted out a sweet child of mine cover and Questo ripped a impromptu version of “Apache.” Black Though did not disappoint and kicked multiple freestyles over the instrumentation. He is one of the most talented rappers to grace the microphone and the rhythmic nature of his vocals need to be heard to be believed. The show was great and if you have never seen The Roots in concert make sure you grab tickets next time they are in town.
