Notes from the Sideline:
“Amphitheatre” was misspelled on the official show print. This is the second time “AC/DC Bag” has opened a show on the second leg this year. “Bathtub Gin” was shorter than usual. “Alumni Blues” included extensive stage banter with Fishman having “the lowest grade point average ever recorded at UVM.” Before starting “David Bowie”, Trey pointed and commented on liking a “Jennifer Dances” sign. This version of “David Bowie” is worth seeking out. “Crosseyed & Painless” opened the second set for the second straight Sunday (8/19/12+8/26/12). Gamehenge tracks have received similar placement (Song two of second set) lately. “Lizards” after “Rock and Roll” on 8/24/12 and now “McGrupp” after “Crosseyed” tonight. “Tweezer” is in the stop what you are doing and go hear it right now category. A Freezin’ Masterpiece. @SecretCabDriver informs us that the only other “Tweezer” > “Harry Hood” was on 5/15/90. First “Big Black Furry Creature From Mars” encore since 4/8/94. During “BBFCFM”, Trey played guitar behind his back while Mike Gordon played bass from his knees (per @CoventryMusic).
