The Heavy Pets hit the road this August and September with a highly anticipated five show run in Colorado highlighted by an appearance at the LoHi Music Festival in Denver, a benefit for the town of Live Oak at the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park, Phish after-parties in Alabama and Georgia, three nights with Greenhouse Lounge in their home state of Florida, and a run up and down the coast anchored by sets at the Savannah Craft Beer Festival, Catskill Chill, Wormtown Music Festival and The Werk Out.

This run is also highlighted by the introduction of bassist Tony D’Amato, longtime friend of the Pets and band mate of drummer Jamie Newitt in the Philadelphia-based jazz-fusion act, Spontaneous Underground. Justin Carney has left the band to pursue other interests. “We are very excited to welcome Tony to the family. I have been a fan of his since my first time seeing SpUn, and look forward to the deeply funky impact he will have on this band,” says guitarist Jeff Lloyd. In typical THP fashion, they have a full tour schedule ahead giving them plenty of opportunity to introduce D’Amato to their rapidly expanding fan base.
