There is never a shortage of untz parties going down in the summer time in California, especially Los Angeles, and this year’s Hard Summer is expanding to two days of untz and whomp in downtown LA at Historic Park to keep fulfilling that demand for the beats in the desert. It’s a bit more than untz this year, though and it’s definitely a more eclectic lineup than I make it out to be. It’s just that seeing Skrillex listed as a headliner still makes me think the whole dang thing is just DJ’s and producers, but Bloc Party is holding down the headlining duties on the first night of the festival. Boys Noize, Miike Snow, Nero, Squarepusher and tons more untz round out the lineup, but don’t skip over the fact that Bootsy Collins is playing. Right there, you know it’s going to be funky.

And don’t get jahmmed on the 10 on your way to the Mulholland exit!
