This week in NYC live music is a bit quieter and more random than previous weeks, but still offers up plenty of the goods. For well-crafted singer-songwriter-y stuff, I’m liking , , and Maps & Atlases. For something louder and more fuzz-worthy, don’t miss the new combo of Ty Segall and White Fence. Also, if you’re a lover of the Weisennborn guitar like I am, then check out . For a straight-up dose of bass-heavy funk, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstapunk is a good option.
