To kick off Nolafunk’s inaugural Jazzfest concert series, a group of big-time players descended on Republic New Orleans for a Dead-heavy superjam to get the Jazz Fest night scene in proper motion. In a reprise of last year’s highly-touted night show, Anders Osborne, Bill Kreutzmann (Grateful Dead), Paul Barrere & Fred Tackett of Little Feat, Billy Iuso (and appearances by Papa Mali) made up the remarkable band with Marco Benevento opening the show.. Wesley grew up in coastal Georgia and is a former resident of The Music City and the Big Easy where he helped get Live Music Blog: NOLA off-the-ground, managing it in New Orleans through Jazz Fest 2012. Hodges now lives amongst THE CALIFORNIANS as a newcomer to West LA. His favorite artists include My Morning Jacket, Sigur Rós, Widespread Panic, The Allman Brothers Band, Dr. Dog, Tame Impala, Anders Osborne, Radiohead and Bobby & The Midnites.
