The Newport Folk Festival has announced their 2012 lineup, with My Morning Jacket and Jackson Browne heading up the top of the two-day lineup, along with Iron & Wine, Conor Oberst, Arlo Guthrie, Deer Tick, Dawes, tUnE-yArDs, The Head and the Heart, The Tallest Man on Earth, Tom Morello, Sharon Van Etten, and New Multitudes, a new group consisting of Yim Yames (My Morning Jacket), Jay Farrar (Son Volt), Will Johnson (Centro-matic), and Anders Parker (Varnaline). Other notable acts playing the festival include Patty Griffin, Punch Brothers, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Alabama Shakes, City & Colour, Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, Gary Clark, Jr., Trampled By Turtles, Robert Ellis, Of Monsters and Men, Sara Watkins, Deep Dark Woods, Carl Broemel, and Brown Bird.

The 2012 Newport Folk Festival takes place July 28-29th at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, RI.
