In cased you missed it, Wilco has announced that its own three-day Solid Sound Festival will be officially taking 2012 off, but will return in 2013. The next Solid Sound Festival will take place June 21-23, 2013, at MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA. However, the band will still be performing a 2012 benefit show for Mass MoCa at the North Adams, MA museum this summer (exact date still TBA).
Wilco has also announced a new “iTunes session” which is currently available for pre-order and is expected to be out on January 24. The album features eight songs recorded at Wilco’s Chicago loft in December, with new takes on songs from The Whole Love as well as a couple classic Wilco tunes and a version of Nick Lowe’s “Cruel to Be Kind,” featuring Mr. Lowe himself.
The band is on tour in the Western U.S. in January and February, before they head to Europe in March.
