REVIEW / PHOTOS / VIDEO: Explosions in the Sky @ Tipitina’s 9/28/11

On a stormy Wednesday night, Texas space rockers washed every molecule of space in 501 Napoleon with riff squalls, overflowing the building with ambitious, montage-y triple guitar rock music. I moved around a fair bit given the somewhat short set (75 minutes or so) and never arrived at a spot inside or out of the immediate perimeter of the building where the music wasn’t resonating clearly.
