@LMBNOLA: ACL @ Nite – Sunday Evening in Zilker Park From Above
One of the best parts of both C3 juggernaut festivals (Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits) is the fact that they both take place in beautiful city parks within striking distance of the Chicago and Austin downtown areas. This is great both (a) because it makes for easy access to all the great things the respective cities have to offer outside Grant and Zilker parks and (b) the nighttime skyline views behind the main stages are absolutely killer while watching a set from a band like Arcade Fire or Jane’s Addiction (who closed it down at Lolla ’09 w/ helicopters flying above) play to a crowd of 50,000+. On Sunday night, we got an interesting/unique overhead perspective of Zilker and the masses below.
Wesley grew up in coastal Georgia and is a former resident of The Music City and the Big Easy where he helped get Live Music Blog: NOLA off-the-ground, managing it in New Orleans through Jazz Fest 2012. Daft Punk is actually playing at his house tonight and you're invited.
