Yesterday at ACL Fest, Big Boi did exactly what he did not do at this year’s Outside Lands Music Festival — he showed up.

With a backing band and a greatest hits catalog that any artist at yesterday’s first day of ACL would have been envious of, Big Boi by delivering a high-energy set to the mid-day crowd that got everyone up and rocking along with the grooves. Songs like “Ms. Jackson” and “So Fresh, So Clean” seemed to sound amazing live and really lend itself well to a mid-day festival set full of adoring fans singing along. My highlight was a the raucous “Ghettomusick > B.O.B.” sequence that was just full on arena rock rap style. So much fun.
