@LMBNOLA: Videos – Bootsy Collins & the Funk University @ Tipitina’s 6/15/11

Bootsy Collins & the Funk University is touring in support of his new record Tha Funk Capital of the World, enrolling fans nationwide in his Funk University on a nightly basis and bringin’ the kind of party to town seldom seen anywhere else. His stop at Tipitina’s on the heels of a buzzed-about set marks a long-awaited return to THE Funk Capital of the World and it was clear from the get-go that even a place largely built on funk music was poorly equipped to handle this kind of three bass attack and the kind of joyful noise Bootsy and Friends were bringing, covering Dre, Jimi, Sly and of course, George Clinton – nearly sending Tip’s into orbit. Outta this world
