Why aren’t the entire shows/festival being shown? KOL only has 35 minute webcast?? We have been looking forward to seeing the many of the shows that aren’t going to be shown at all (FLAMINGLIPS!!). Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks, Ian. I don’t think the schedule was there earlier.

Heather, the only reason I can guess that they only want to do one “channel” is because of costs. If they were to do more “channels”, for example one from each stage, it might mean more support people and more bandwidth. There may also be an advertising component in that they can sell advertising easier if there is only one “channel” to watch. I’d love to be able to switch from stage to stage but I only saw that done during the Live 8 concert when you could switch from country to country which was truly awesome. Especially since MTV botched their coverage so badly.

They’ve never done more than one “channel,” as they used to host it on AT&T Blue Room. From the looks of that schedule, it’s definitely a mix of full sets being shown live, and then some full and partial sets shown out of order. Nice to see that they’ll show the full LCD Soundsystem, Jay-Z, Marley & Nas, Jimmy Cliff, etc.

NPR.org will be streaming live more than 40 sets – they’re going from 1 PM to 3 AM starting tomorrow, so check there too.
