Preview: Brothers Past at Bowery Ballroom Tomorrow
I’m in the midst of a pretty packed weekend of music here in NYC. Last night, I was lucky enough to check out a taping of Elvis Costello’s Spectacle (TV show), tonight I’m heading to Marco Benevento Trio in Tribeca, and then it’s off to the Bowery on Saturday for Brothers Past!
I recently dropped a post about Brothers Past to catch us up on some of their latest exploits, including a few tour dates and some links to a recent interview, a video, and to their latest podcast, called “Songs That Aren’t the Ceiling.” Since then, they’ve actually released a second volume of their “Songs That Aren’t the Ceiling” podcast series. It’s got me rocking to a pretty badass cover of Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy the Silence” and getting pumped up for Saturday’s show.
I’ll be bringing a friend who’s completely new to their music but who was pretty amped up after I described their sound and some of their typical cover tunes. It’ll be interesting to get his reaction.
