Our friend Josh Kuckens went to see the Marco Benevento Trio (with Reed Mathis on bass and Andrew Barr on drums) at The Westcott Theatre in Syracuse, NY on Thursday night, and he ended up getting some really incredible photos of the band in action. And thanks to taper AndyB and the Internet Archive, there’s a nice quality recording of the concert now in circulation.

I got a chance to see this lineup perform in Oakland during February and it was easily one of the top three concerts I’ve seen during 2009 thus far. Go see this genius if you have the chance; you won’t be disappointed.
