Call me an amateur but I don’t think I had ever heard of Record Store Day before. It’s not too old, but I found it interesting when I was reading that the Derek Trucks Band is releasing a special disc called Already Live just in honor of the event, so I did a bit of research. Turns out they have a website and everything.

At any rate, it was the DTB that got my attention so we’ll continue on with the news. Read on for the info on the release and for their upcoming tour dates.

In honor of “Record Store Day” The Derek Trucks Band will release Already Live (Sony/Victor Records) – a 5 song EP consisting of live recordings from the band’s latest and critically acclaimed album Already Free, as well as fan favorites from their live performances such as ‘My Favorite Things’ and ‘I Done Got Over.’

Recorded at the Wilma Theatre in Missoula, MT and the Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara, CA the limited edition of Already Live is not only a unique collector’s piece for fans, but also, an excellent way to support independent retail music stores across America. Already Live will be available exclusively at Indie retail music stores.

“Sony Music has supported ‘Record Store Day’ since its inception and we are excited to be partnering with The Derek Trucks Band this year to support it again,” says Michael Block, Executive Vice President of Sales, Sony Music Commercial Music Group.
