Confirmed: Phish to Play Fenway Park May 31
BATTER UP: PHISH HITS FENWAY from Phish on Vimeo.
Phish just made opening day a bit sweeter for all of us by confirming that they are indeed playing Fenway Park on May 31st. They’ve also added another night at Jones Beach.
As typical for their latest tour announcements, the band has a new video up on their homepage greeting fans with a stunning version of a few classics that you may recognize. Read on for the info.
Phish has added two additional shows to their 2009 Summer Tour, including a May 31st concert at Boston’s historic Fenway Park, and a third night (June 2nd) at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY.
A limited number of tickets are available directly through Phish Tickets’ online ticketing system at http://phish.portals.musictoday.com/. The ticketing request period is currently underway for the newly announced shows and will end on Sunday, April 12th at 11:59PM ET. Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, April 17th.
This sure beats seeing The Police at Wrigley Field. I would kill to be in attendance for this. I’ve never been to see the Green Monster in person, and I can only imagine that Phish will plan to bring something new to the diamond out of respect for the field. Should be an interesting night.
