Dub Trio Announce Fall 2008 Tour Dates

by -

Dub TrioDub Trio just announced a nice cross-country tour to support their album Another Sound is Dying, released earlier this year. Simply put, this band doesn’t get nearly enough attention in the live music world. I saw them a few years back opening up for Ozric Tentacles and needless to say this music didn’t really mesh well with the headliner’s core audience. But watch this video below and tell me that you’re not interested in seeing more that this band has to offer.

Their seemless blend of New York hardcore, dub reggae, and hipster aesthetic really makes this band interesting to me and I’m surprised we don’t see more people writing about them. Hopefully that can change soon.

I can’t believe I’ve let these guys slip past my radar. Especially since their album is on the ipecac label. If Mike Patton is putting it out there it’s usually good.

@Dan – yeah Patton used these guys as his backing band on the Peeping Tom project. He played Lolla with them and everything. In the background they’ve always done this Dub Trio thing which used to be a lot less hardcore, much more spacey and dub-y. It’s really incredible stuff if you ask me. Dig back into their catalog…you’ll be pleased.
