Perhaps you’ve had enough festival lineups to last you for the next few years, but here’s yet another one worth checking out…

The annual Austin City Limits Music Festival has revealed its massive 2008 lineup, and it’s really quite solid. The event is slated for September 26-28 in Austin’s Texas’ Zilker Park. Here’s a mere sample of this year’s musical offerings:

ACL recently posted a mash-up of tunes from the bands on this list on its MySpace page. The mix was created by Car Stereo Wars to give a little taste of what’s to come at ACL this year. Yet another clever lineup teaser from the folks at ACL.

The temperature in Austin in September may be damn hot, but I think this lineup is bound to bring the real heat. Full list after the jump…

yeah, agreed. when i saw THE headliner listed as FOO FIGHTERS all the anticipation i had totally deflated like a balloon.
soooo underwhelming. there is no comparision of the foo fighters to coachella, sasquatch, or bonnaroo…

I should add, there’s a lot of solid stuff on this lineup.

Who cares who the headliner will be? If anything, IMO the headliner comes on too late and you’ve already been in this hot ass park all day. The primo slots are between 2 PM and 7 PM, and I’m excited about the lineup. Neko Case has beat out Fiona Apple as my favorite female musician ever, and I’m pumped to see her live. My feelings on Beck have deflated; not sure if it’s since I found out he’s a Scientologist or if he hasn’t replicated the awesomeness of Mutations-Vultures-Sea Change, but he’d be great to see live. Antibalas is a great live band, NY Jew Afrobeat-style. David Byrne!? Has anyone seen the ACL show he did, after the Eyeball album came out? Great stuff. Del the Funky Homosapien? I live in Austin and I don’t know if there’s been a better line-up yet. All that’s missing is Los Amigos Invisibles…

Colin: killer point about the headliners…they seem to be the “decision” point for a lot of people that go to festivals. For me, the decision point is usually — “can i take off a day or two of work that weekend?” — as I plan on hitting certain music festivals every year regardless of who’s really playing…

The Mars Volta is playing…that should be enough for everyone, really.
