A few months ago, the esteemed Justin Ward and myself were able to catch a really nice Holy Fuck show at Schubas here in Chicago. Now it seems like I may be able to see these guys once more before the summer. Toronto’s electro-rockers are teaming up with the amazingly hip M.I.A. for a handful of dates in late April and some in early May and June. Hopefully this time the temperature won’t be floating near zero.

Holy Fuck has been having a great year and their new album was a solid step forward musically from the last. When LMB checked them out in February they played a short but action packed set of songs mostly from the new album. The newly released video for “Lovely Allen” is very nice; check it out below.

M.I.A has also been nothing short of dominating in 2007 and 2008: she’s appearing in her own ads on MTV, enjoying a serious resurgence of Kala due to the single “Paper Planes,” and is pretty much single-handedly bringing back MC Hammer’s style sensibilities. This is a dual bill not to missed this spring.

I love Holy Fuck; they’re like my new favorite band for like the next ten minutes…

Seriously, though — nothing beats their live version of “Super Inuit,” which is here if you’re down to give this band a shot yourself.

I saw them open for Cornelius last year at Webster Hall. They were REALLY LOUD and really energetic.
