Radiohead’s Scotch_Mist Webcast, 2008 Tour Dates

Radiohead – Scotch_Mist (via HT)

While I was ringing in the New Year with Umphrey’s McGee and 4,000 other fans, I’m pretty sure a lot more people than that were tuned into Current TV’s broadcast of an hour-long Radiohead webcast. And that’s really not a horrible way to spend your NYE celebration either. It was probably my Plan B and I’m glad they archived it for our viewing pleasure.

Make sure you watch this video above with some nice headphones and no distractions. Or check out each track on their YouTube channel. Become one with the tunes and relish the fact that the live cuts from In Rainbows are as fantastic as you’d imagine they would be. And then get psyched for their 2008 tour with Europe announced already and hope they announce the US dates soon.

Considering we’ve been on quite a break, we never really did any posts on their In Rainbows release, what it means for the music industry, why I want to get into the web distribution business, why I love the album more than you do, and so on…what did you guys think of the album? Drop some comment bombs on why this release changed your life.

I'm the Editor. HOLLA.

Thanks so much for sharing this! I wish I could go to the show in Nimes — what a sweet venue.

in rainbows is absolutely amazing. radiohead all around is amazing. btw, i feel the same way about the jam scene now. I’m getting into more post-punk stuff like bloc party and the strokes and other cool non-jam things like radiohead. I find a lot of the jam stuff that i used to listen to corny now and don’t know what to do about it. I feel like I’m betraying what used to be a huge part of my life, and its especially hard when I’m in a band and I’m writing songs. I feel obliged to improvise and force myself to write segments dedicated to jamming. Yea, sorry for the random tangent, i just needed to get that out. In Rainbows is fuckin amazing.

Radiohead is, without a doubt, the greatest band to ever walk on this planet. Everything pales and those who compare can’t even come close to Radiohead’s musical genius. Are the members of Radiohead really earthlings? I’d like to take the time right now to THANK RADIOHEAD for bringing me such great musical joy in life. As a writer of music myself I find no other artists, work to be more inspiring and beautiful than radioheads. Is it legal to marry a band just for their music?
