High Sierra 2007 | New Artists Additions and Late-Night Schedule

by -

The 2007 High Sierra Music Festival has announced another set of artist additions, including former Phish ‘Chairman of the Boards’ Page McConnell. They’ve also released their schedule for late-night shows, with the full festival schedule to follow at the end of May.

New artists include:

Page McConnell
ALBINO!
Future Rock
Markus James and the Wassonrai
Ashleigh Flynn
Megan Slankard
Jim Brunberg (formerly of Box Set)
Shannon Moore
Datri Bean
Sol’jibe (from Plumas County)

Future Rock is an ‘Electronic Rock’ outfit that has been more impressive every time I’ve seen them…..a superb choice as a late-night opener for the Disco Biscuits. And, although I’ve never seen ALBINO! or Markus James and the Wassonrai, those descriptions are definitely intriguing.

I was at the STS9 show here in Houston recently with the bassist of Future Rock and some friends. I had never really heard of them until then, and now they keep popping up everywhere. I might actually have to check them out!

Nice. if you’re into the live, electronic rock thing, FR is pretty solid, and only getting better. A lot of fans talk up their interpretations of dinstinctly ‘electronic’ artists (Like Daft Punk, Aphex Twin, etc…). At last year’s Camp Bisco they did an entire set of Aphex and this year they plan to do “Daft Rock.” fun fun.
