Bjork | 2007 Tour Dates

I’ve been working on rounding up some of my stuff from SXSW but I thought I’d get a quick post up in the meantime. I caught up on some feed reading this morning and noticed that Bjork had announced some tour dates in conjunction with her scheduled 2007 Coachella Music Festival appearance

Bjork 2007 Tour Dates

May 02 – New York – Radio City Music Hall
May 05 – New York – United Palace Theater
May 08 – New York – Apollo Theater
May 12 – Chicago – Auditorium Theatre
May 15 – Denver – Red Rocks Amphitheatre
May 19 – San Francisco – Shoreline Amphitheatre
May 23 – Vancouver- Deer Lake Park

While some of her new music can be slightly over-the-top, I still enjoy Bjork’s music and I still list the time I saw her in 2001 as one of my favorite concert experiences ever. The hair on my neck stood up straight multiple times during the concert, and the clap-happy song, “It’s In Our Hands,” ended the show and got the whole crowd to smile wide.

It was fantastic…

Yeah, October 2001 at Radio City. Hadda be one of the all time best shows I ever seen. She came out after the break, she had a dress made of glass microscope slides, painted red, with red flamingo feathers. Love her or hate her, there’s no one like her. And Radio City is just a great place to see a show!

I went to the Apollo show Tuesday night and it was just
magical. Her voice just soared, the musical arrangments
were fresh and innovative, the staging beautiful. She opened
    cleverly with Post’s “Cover me”,
behind the closed curtain, and the energy just didn’t let up til she rallied an already frenzied crowd to “raise your flag”, a triumphant protest song (“Declare Indepenace”) in an (Bush) era when we sorely need one. Performing on the same stage where James Brown became a legend, Bjork had soul
    aplenty.

I think it is tragic Bjork is not touring Australia.
