Neko Case | 2007 Tour Dates

When Neko Case released Fox Confessor Brings the Flood early last year, fans responded with overwhelmingly good reviews and support at live performances including the Sasquatch, Telluride and SxSW music festivals. The alt-country woman had solidified her place as more than just a passing fad in the world of female music stars, a feat which is proven by the fact that her 2007 tour line-up includes performances with such famous names as Merle Haggard and Emmylou Harris.

2007 Tour Dates:

She’s starting off with a tour of Australia, so if you needed a good excuse to get down under, here it is:

January 25th – Governor Hindmarsh in Adelaide
January 26th – Fly By Night in Perth
January 28th – The Zoo in Brisbane
January 30th – The Annandale in Sydney
January 31st – TBA in Sydney
February 2nd and 3rd – Prince of Wales in Melbourne

But if you can’t justify flying to Australia just to see Neko, you can catch her afterwards on the West Coast of the U.S. and Canada:

February 9th – 12th, she’ll be touring with Merle Haggard:

February 9th – Paramount Theatre in Oakland, CA
February 10th – Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland, OR
February 11th – Paramount Theatre in Seattle, WA
February 12th – IMG Performing Arts Center in Spokane, WA

After that, Neko and the band will head out on their own, with instrumental support from Erich Bachmann of Crooked Fingers:

February 13th – Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, BC
February 14th – WWU Performing Arts Center in Bellingham, WA
February 15th – McDonald Theatre in Eugene, OR
February 16th – The Rio Theatre in Santa Cruz, CA
February 17th – Henry Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, CA
Februrary 18th – Belly Up Tavern in San Diego, CA

Then they head to New York to participate in the American Songbook Series performance:

February 23rd – Lincoln Center’s Allen Room (2 shows)

And finally, she hits the Midwest for a performance with Emmylou Harris:

March 31st – Calvin College Fieldhouse in Grand Rapids, MI

Neko always performs well live, sending that vibrating voice of hers out to wash over the audience, so find a date and place that works for you and check her out.

FYI: The Neko Case performance in Grand Rapids, MI with Emmylou Harris is part of a music festival called “The Festival of Faith and Music” at Calvin College. Sufjan Stevens and Anathallo headline the night before (March 30) and all performers will also be speaking, presumably on faith and music during the day. http://www.calvin.edu/admin/sao/festival/

Caught Neko last night 31st Jan here in Sydney at the Annandale hotel. A wonderfully intimate gig with Neko’s soaring vocals backed by a wildly talented band. Great pedal steel solos and tight, tight harmonies from backing singer! Can’t say I was a huge fan before, so went along out of curiosity but now an absolute convert. Can’t recommend enough to fans of live music.
