2007 Jammys | Let the Rumors Begin…

jammys2007.jpgRumor time: It appears that the 2007 Jammys have been booked for Friday, April 13, 2007 at the Knitting Factory in New York City.

Or maybe…is this just an early placeholder for the beginning of the Green Apple Music Festival — certainly expected to make a triumphant 2007 return — as it leads into the Jammys to end the festival? That’s a no-go — they’ve already announced that the 2007 Green Apple Music Festival will be expanding to Chicago and San Francisco (along with NYC) and it’ll run from April 20-22, 2007.

Who knows. None of the dates make sense together yet…

Thanks to Ryan for tossing this my way…

Update: from the source, this is a big-ass confirmed “NO” on having the 2007 Jammys at the Knitting. Sorry for jumping the gun on that one…carry on.

You’re right about this not making any sense. This rumor is definitely a falsehood.

There’s just no way this could be correct…the Jammys has been held in a venue that holds up to 5,500 people the last two years, and before that in a venue that holds like 2,500.

Even if they used ALL the rooms inside the Knit, which would be extremely messed up logistically, they couldn’t put more than 750 people in there.

No way, Jose. Pretty stupid rumor (unless it turns out to be true, in which case this would suck and I’d still be pissed this post ever went up).

Ace Cowboy said it better than I was about to say it.

The Knit is way to small to host the Jammy Awards. To move it from the Theatre at MSG to the Knitting Factory would be an extreme step backwards for the awards show.

Uhm, one must step back and realize that I’m not the one saying this is booked — it’s TicketWeb.com that says it booked.

Stupid rumor maybe, but they’re still making plans and the Knitting Factory might be involved. No need to read too much further.

Maybe they are using the Knitting Factory. Friends of mine that have been to Jammys past have said they are too expensive, too long, and it really isn’t all the good.

Maybe less and less people are going.

The truth is, there are two Jammy Awards. And ours (at The Knitting Factory) is actually the original – this year marks our 14th annual show.

Honestly, Shapiro is running both Green Apple and the Jammys, and now in its 2nd year, The Green Apple has the spotlight on it a The Jammys is just a speckle of sand floating on the wind. I doubt they will have it this year!!! :(
