Phish Friday | Fluffer-Nutter

Man, this week flew by…

It’s already Phish Friday around here on Live Music Blog and we’re offering up a small stretch of Phish that I’m certain most fans have already heard before. At least, most fans that would call themselves a collector by any means…

Back in December, 1997, Phish was playing one of the tours of their life. Their Bittersweet Motel rockumentary shares a few glimpses into this storied tour — Trey actually gets quoted as saying something like “No one’s paying attention to us right now, and we’re having one of our best tours yet…” — and one of the shows on the tour was epic by all accounts: December 7, 1997, Ervin J. Nutter Center, Dayton, OH.

This sequence actually opens the show. Ephing Fantastic!

I'm the Editor. HOLLA.

Honestly, the night before, 12/6/97, and the Nutty Center are the PEAK of 1997. The entire year leading up to this tour is widely considered the climax of PHISH as we knew it.

Any other ideas of HOT, multi-nite stands? How about Deer Creek ’96, and UIC ’98. There was nothing like settling into a venue for a multinite run and looking back on it in retrospect. Oh yeah, forgot to mention Miami ’03. Any suggestions?
