    “Improv Rock and Roll” — you flew under the radar there; I should have also added “bands that improvise” as an unacceptable clause.

    I’m hearing some good stuff…freak folk taking the cake for silliest new genre yet totally weirdly enjoyable. The *ska* genre got thrown in, too. Sweet…keep ‘em coming…

    Newgrass-YMSB, Tim Obrien,Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Peter Rowan. Great Genre completely different than bluegrass.

    I use Mexigrass as sub genre on my ipod. This entails folk tunes from Los Lobos, Peter Rowan stuff with Flaco Jimenez, and SCI latin tunes. It took me a while to justify this genre. But I figure grass refers to roots and/or folk or something like that. Best I got.
