While I do enjoy the good jamband every once in a while, I still have a soft spot in my heart for post punk hardcore. Not sure that makes any sense but I’m still running with it.
Del Rey is a band I first caught in a kitchen at a keg party at Illinois State University — that was a weird night — and ever since I’ve been into their groove. It’s part dual-drumming math rock, part hardcore, part Tortoise-esque electronica — all wrapped up in some hipster dudes living in Chicago. Check ’em out.
Their new album is coming out soon and they’re throwing a release party to celebrate…
