Have a boatload of fun at Bonnaroo 2006 if you’re going. Get used to looking at the bumper in front of you if you’re arriving today, and…

…get used to seeing a lot of vehicles ’round you, also…

Man oh man — Radiohead, Oysterhead, Tom Petty, Disco Biscuits & Umphrey’s McGee late-night, My Morning Jacket late-night — you have fun out there, folks! Wear your sunblock, too!

This sucks I’m at work half way across the country and the Roo has already started. Has anyone ever arrived at Bonnaroo late afternoon on Friday before? How’s the traffic situation at this time? I get into Nashville around noon tomorrow and all I care about is seeing Oysterhead at 5:30!

traffic is just hit or miss. the 2 years i went i left from huntsville, about an hour on back roads with no traffic. the first year it took me 2.5 hours, the third year it took me 5 hours. it all just depends. keep your fingers crossed…

mrMinor…if you check this, here is the back way we used to get onto the grounds in 3 hours the first year.

Going south(east) on i24, skip exit 111 and get off on the next exit south: Hillsboro Hwy/State 41.

Turn left at the top of the exit ramp and drive about a mile to Asbury Road.

Turn left on Asbury and go @two miles and turn left on Clifton Scott Road.

Follow until it dead ends into Cornelison Road…turn left on Cornelison

Cornelison dead ends into New Brushy Branch Road

Turn left on NBB…it will curve sharp right so follow it until they stop you at Shed Road.

They will direct you north(right) on shed road, which will dump you onto Ragsdale Road.

Turn left on Ragsdale and follow it until you merge in with traffic back onto New Brushy Branch.

    You are there.

All of these roads are on google maps/google earth if you want to check them out.

I haven’t done it since 2002, but it should still work.

Now, getting past south(east) bound traffic on I24 to get to the exit after 111 can be problematic.

Check the map…don’t follow the sheep

Seriously — I feel the same way. I’m reading everything and I’m totally getting jealous, and yet I swore it off so hard after ‘Roo 04.

As a first timer, I was pretty damn impressed. Radiohead, Beck, and Ben Folds put on amazing shows, as well as Umphrey’s and the Disco Biscuits. I was pleasantly surprised by the music of Dios (Malos) and Robinella. There was also this band called Silent Diner, which played in front of their RV, and they captivated everybody who walked by. The sounded like an early Phish, and I was blown away. I wish I could have seen Seu Jorge and Oysterhead, but apparently sleep and rest are needed in order to rock out for another day. I’m definitely making a second trip next year.

Yo, this year was my first time also at Bonnaroo. the artist lineup is unbeatable and although it is hot, if you have a hat and some sunscreen it was better than D.C. on a summer day.
FYI – MTV is NOT buying out Bonnaroo. the creators want to keep the good vibes going as long as possible. And the vibes were good. I’m definitely going back next year. Nickel Creek was incredible. Hope to see you all there. Peace and love.
