10KLF always seems to get dwarfed by the large elephant festivals in the room, but personally, I think this lineup looks nice and impressive for a first round draft.

Who will Trey choose to play with? Let’s go ahead and hope it’s not Phish and hope it’s not 70 Volt Parade. I think we’re running out of options…

Official 10KLF Announcement

Additional artists will be announced in the coming weeks. Visit www.10KLF.com for a complete list of performers.

The 10,000 Lakes Festival community comes together once a year to celebrate great music in an enchanting natural setting within a participatory, dynamic festival environment. In 2005, the Minneapolis Star Tribune admired that the 10,000 Lakes Festival was “filled with thousands of good vibes.” Jambase.com calls 10KLF “gold from the North Country.” The Star Tribune continues “Even the musicians are impressed by the fest site.” Jon Bell, singer/guitarist with Widespread Panic told the Star Tribune backstage at 10KLF in 2005, “There’s room to move and lots of friendliness and not too crazy. It’s a very open vibe. You can’t create that.”

Dotting the spacious festival and campgrounds are 4 stages showcasing the 40+ bands performing on the Barn Stage, a shady hill overlooking the concert bowl, the open air Field Stage, the Saloon Stage for intimate concerts and late night jams, and the Main Stage where everyone gathers in the evening for the headliners’ concerts featuring Trey Anastasio, The String Cheese Incident and more.

Additionally, independent and unsigned bands will have the opportunity to perform at the festival through the ‘Cosmic Break’ competition. Please visit the festival website after March 1 for information on how a band may submit materials for consideration to perform the 10,000 Lakes Festival.

Did I make a mistake getting my ticket for Wakarusa?

Nah, at least to me Wakarusa is still better.

I’m definitely going to the Waka and only maybe going to 10k.

Well, I’m thinking that these lineups are pretty similar in form so it’d be all about location for me.

It’d be easier for me to get to 10KLF, so I’ve always considered Wakarusa as “out.”

Well it depends who else 10KL adds. Wakarusa hit a magical sweet spot where every band I like in the scene other than Phil, Mike, and SCI is playing there. Ironically, the people I want added to Waka are all playing 10KL, but that festival needs a bit more for me.

I’m diggin where some bands have 2 slots throughout the weekend -nice to see a band like TLG in the middle of the day then late night 3:30 in the morning -

still, Trey and Cheese headlining…not to shabby..
