A while back, Glide Magazine posted this unbelievably good Perpetual Groove show that really got me more interested in the band. Personally, I wasn’t quick to start researching Perpetual Groove simply because of their name–it just screams jamband. Not that it matters, but you know what I mean.

I have both of their releases, All This Everything and Sweet Oblivious Antidote, and I really enjoy both of them. I have a lot of respect for what they’re trying to do, but I also can’t really pick up on the energy that this band exudes because I haven’t seen them live yet. I think this show does a decent job of showing the side of Perpetual Groove that everyone should at least give a second listen to. The jam in Robot Waltz is pure energy alone…

I’ve been pumpin’ up PGroove for over a year now…Their live shows are killer, period. Also, Brock Butler seems to have a knack for writing decent lyrics….

They’re down near me this coming weekend at Bamboo Room in Lake Worth and then the following night in Lauderdale at the Culture Room, so all is good in S. Florida.

Still young guys, like TLG, with serious potential.

Scotty G: email me if you feel like writing up a review for the P-Groove shows. I’d love to hear about them.

Yeah, I’m loving that feature, too. I’m seeing some other bloggers use it, too, so I’m hoping that we start getting some modifications to the script (like show running-time, etc.)

    I’m glad you like it…

i saw them in NYC last month, and they were OK. The groove was a little too perpetual if you know what i mean.
