Morning Rant: Live Music Will Ruin Your Ears

I’m surfing around my feedreader this morning and something caught my attention.

Rolling Stone | Music Making Fans Deaf?

While it serves as slightly depressing overview on who (and inevitably when) our favorite artists lose their hearing, the real kicker is at the end.

And while most veteran musicians are getting the message, some younger acts are still resistant. “I only like it loud,” says Killers singer Brandon Flowers. “Our live show would never be the same if I wore in-ear [protection].”

He’s just doing it for the fans? Bullshit.

I’ve heard good things about this company from other concert photographers for ear plugs:

they seem to be selling the same type as the one mentioned in the article (etymotic.com) but cheaper if you are just buying one pair.
