Foo Fighters/Weezer: More Dates and Venues Confirmed

Update: Weezer has confirmed that the presales for San Diego and Phoenix start today (August 10) at 10am. The presale password for this round is “litebrite”.

From weezer.com

Heres another leg of the Weezer/Foo Fighters/Foozer/Weez Fighters co-headlining tour. The Kaiser Chiefs will join the bands on these four new dates. Confirmed US cities, venues, and on-sale details are:

9/27 San Diego, CA – Cox Arena. On sale: Saturday, August 13th
9/28 Phoenix, AZ – America West Arena. On sale: Saturday, August 13th
10/2 Minneapolis, MN – Xcel Arena. On sale: Saturday, August 20th
10/3 Chicago, IL – Allstate Arena. On Sale: Saturday, August 20th

We’re still waiting for confirmation on venues and dates for the following cities: Champaign, IL; Grand Rapids, MI; Detroit, MI; Cleveland, OH; Columbus, OH; Baltimore, MD; Worcester, MA; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Fresno, CA; Seattle, WA; and Portland, OR.

If you’re on Weezer’s mailing list, you’ll (supposedly) get an update on when the internet presales are for these dates. No official word yet on either band’s website, but ticketmaster.com says the presale for the Phoenix show starts at 10am on Thursday, August 11. My assumption is that the presales for the rest of the dates will also begin the Thursday before the official on-sale date.

One question: I’ve never been to a Foo Fighters show. Am I going to get beat up if I have floor tickets?

I’m assuming that the Foo Fighters fan base is growing up, but please tell me if I need to worry about flying elbows and flagrant headbanging. Do people even do this anymore? It’s been a while since I’ve been to a concert where people weren’t noodling and hula-hooping, so I just thought I’d ask.
