Maybe one of my faithful readers will know the answer to this…

I’ve submitted my podcast feed to iTunes recently, and I still don’t see it showing up in the directory. Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions?

  • Radio DTB hasn’t been included in the iTunes directory yet, either. I’ve submitted it a few times, and I think other people have submitted it, too. I wonder if the folks at Apple are checking the podcast to see if it’s “acceptable” for inclusion and balking at including them because they play music and Apple doesn’t want to risk RIAA ire?

  • You can only submit it once from what I’ve seen. It validates and shows that my feed has been submitted, it’s almost as though it’s just not picking up any of my new activity. We’ll see, I guess.

I understand that plenty of other podcasts that fit our particular mold have already been added, including TMNS.net and Umphrey’s McGee podcasts. So, those passed with flying colors. Why hasn’t mine?!?!?

  • I can’t figure out why my podcast isn’t listed in iTunes yet.

  • They have a little passage in the submission FAQ that gives you the answer (at least in part). Look under “How do I submit my podcast for possible inclusion on the iTunes Music Store” and you’ll find:

Submitted podcasts do not immediately appear in the Music Store and may be reviewed before being posted.

Click the “Learn more about podcasting on iTunes” link on the feed submission page to read the whole thing. All I know is when I upgraded, this was the first thing I looked into and because of some scary words on that page I’ve kept from submitting my own feed until I look into licensing. This is a hobby and I’d like to keep it fun — not headache inducing.

If you’d want to start a petition to get the Jamcasts listed, I’d be glad to throw my name on the list. ^_^
