There have been many instances in my life where music has actually sent chills down my spine. Deep chills. Wonderful chills.

When was the last time this happened to you? The first time? Maybe the first time while drinking? etc. etc.

  • The first set of tapes I received as part of a B&P; just happened to be the Phish show on April 4, 1998. This show was part of Phish’s epic 1998 Island Tour.

    Birds of a Feather > Jam > 2001 > Brother

It does it every time I listen to it. The crowd roar after the first notes in 2001 make me tingly just thinking about it.

Give it a listen. You will not be disappointed.

  • The only time I’ve ever seen Bjork live was at the Civic Opera House in Chicago. She was touring to support Vespertine, and I remember very vividly how amazing her voice resonated throughout the hall. There were a couple times that evening where my spine went rattling, and I couldn’t believe it. It kept happening. The chills kept coming. It was amazing.

  • Listening to the 2001 from the 11/19/97 Champaign show for the very first time…absolute chills.

  • Ace:

I used to have that show on tape. It was one of the first tapes I ever traded when I started liking Phish. It’s hilarious to think that I was still trading tapes as late as 1999.

I ditched them in 2000 for a computer with a CD burner, and I really have not looked back…

  • No room here for my very long-winded response.

  • Justin, very funny…I wrote a whole blog post one day about tape trading. I didn’t get my first burned CD until spring of 2000. That’s not that long ago at all! My bank account would be a lot bigger if I never started.

Anyway, this is probably one of the better pieces I’ve written, and it includes an A Few Good Men/Phish parody that people love…check it out:
